People frequently say that they believe little gets spent on this side of the district. Now we see our swimming pools under threat and the council plans for up to 4000 new houses in and around Pontefract and the new large out of town retail proposals will only work if the infrastructure issues we are already struggling with get resolved first. Huge amounts have been spent in Wakefield over the years and the question still is "has it been well spent?" Big decisions typically get made in Wakefield about our town by people who know little about our heritage, challenges or issues we as local Councillors need to ensure our voices get heard.
