One of the difficulties in our part of the world has been the Councils approach to create public sector jobs and in difficult times some of those jobs are hard to sustain. A classic example in point was the number of press and media officers on the strength of WMDC in 2007/8/9 when we had more press and media appointments than Marks & Spencer's Head Office in London.
Small and medium enterprises employ the largest number of people in the UK and the Employment Allowance scheme will help them grow and be able to employ more people. The scheme goes live from today.
