- One of four Conservative District Councillors on the Eastern edge of West Yorkshire, working with Mark Crowther for Pontefract South, Phil Thomas for Pontefract North and Richard Molloy for Ackworth, North Elmsall and Upton wards of the Wakefield Metropolitan District Council in West Yorkshire. Elected in 2006, as only the second Conservative Councillor to be elected in the towns of Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford since 1974 (how things are changing). Re-elected on 6th May 2010. - LATEST Emergency A&E to close at night from 1st November
- PGI\Pontefract Hospital - Not 90% of existing services more like 40% of what we had will still be delivered in Pontefract
- LATEST PGI\Pontefract Hospital - Demolition commenced, A&E 22 May 2011, Dispensary, St Richards Priory and Hermitage future still unresolved and at risk.
- LATEST Rebuilding Carleton High School began 23rd May 2011, despite MP and local Labour candidates threats to funding in local election leaflet
- PGI\A&E at Pontefract Hospital, no acute or trauma facilities, people being sent to A&E in Wakefield or Dewsbury
- A new Pontefract Hospital but most of the beds are in Wakefield or Dewsbury, Parking prices set to rise again? 12/4/10 A&E in jeopardy.
- Good News - Rail service to London from Monk Hill continues - Monk Hill Station needs significant work as a new gateway to Pontefract.
- Major works at long last to improve condition of Pontefract Castle underway
- Collapsing roads - existing patches failing across the district some for the third time in three months. Report a pothole call 0845 8506506

- Town End Traffic chaos Options meetings held May/June OFFICIAL we will see change one day...
- New scheme for Enforcement against Littering in the Town Centre. Needs support and I will support it!
- Strengthening local businesses and economy
- Neighbourhood policing to stay in Pontefract? Looking positive, but we shall see.
